Biography

Sauti Sol is one of the famous bands in kenya. The group name translates toVoice in the Sunand it was founded in 2005 by three of the band members. The band has four members; Bien-Aime Barasa, Willis Chimano, Savara Mudigi and Polycarp Otieno. Apart from Otieno, the others have been together for 15 years and have also gone to the same High school.Baraza met Otieno at Aliance Francais in Nairobi where he was perfoming and later on joined the team to form the band. The band produces very interesting, catching and unique songs. The taste of tradional music and the Rhumba scensation in their music always makes me want to hear their songs more and more. Their facinating beats and grooves always makes one want to dance.

Band Members

Bien-Aime Barasa

Barasa is one of the most known member of the band. He is tall, dark and likes to wear shades.
He went to Highschool at Upper Hill. As He was in school he still did music and was also a member
of the school band. He has aBachelor's Degree in Journalism from USIU.In their band he is the
vocalist and also a guitar player.

Willis Chimano

Chimano is the coolest guy in the band. He does vocals too and has a base. Mostly he takes the third
verses on their songs.He too went to school together with Baraza and also participated in the school band.
Proffessionaly,he has a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism too.

Savara Mudigi

Savara is one of the charming and energitic member of the band. He is short but very talkative.
He does vocals too. He too went to school with Baraza and Chimano.He he is a good drum player and most
of the time he would be playing electronic drums. He holds a Bachelor's Degree
in E-commerce and Finance.

Polycarp Otieno

Otieno or "Otis" is also the coolest in the band. Barasa met with Otis at the Aliance Francais as there was
an event that the other members were perfoming. After that ,Otis became part of the band. He does vocals
but he is a good gitarist too.He also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science.
